Well, Thanks to events that were beyond my control, I was unable to get the footing poured or the stem wall built.

However, I am not going to let that take away my excitement of having the hole for the foundation dug, for having begun to move forward in the project!

No, instead, I am going to use the time between now and Spring to be truly prepared for the build.  That way, when the time comes I can simply head up there, and build away...

Yes, the first thing will still be the footer and stem wall, and that might delay things more than the 1 week that is scheduled for that because of weather (Concrete should not be allowed to freeze the first 48 hours that it is curing), but, the extra preparation will, I hope, go a long way towards making up any lost time on the project.

If I can arrange some help, for cheap or free, it should go a lot faster.  I know I have my friend with the mill that will come mill for me, but he has a couple young buck sons, or sons-in-law that might be willing to help out for beer, or cheap.  Plus I am hoping to make some genuine friends over the next few months, somehow.  I also have 2 real friends on this side that may wish to help out, as well.  At least occasionally.

Already there are deals that I am finding on rebar and concrete blocks - I justneed to provide a place to store them until I need them.  And it would be best if it was closer to the jobsite rather than on the wet side of the state.  Two reasons.  1. The storage fees are most likely less, and 2) they are that much closer to the jobsite!

Oh, I am truly excited.  One of the things I need to procure during the "off" time is a quad.  I am debating new or used... I know what kind of quad I want, but I don't know if I can find it used.  Artic Cat made a diesel quad for a few years and from the reviews I've read, it sounds awesome - if I could find one of those I'd be thrilled.  But first I need a trailer to carry it on - and a place to store said trailer!

Which then leads me to think I may need to move.  I do think I need to find a place in the country somewhere that I can work from, and yet, isn't too far from the office, that will allow me to have my trailer(s) and my other things.  So, back to craigslist I go to place another add seeking space.  But that will wait until all teh paperwork is filed.

So, the project moves forward.
